August 25, 2006Dear Jones Families,
Welcome to the wonderful season of fall! It is hard to believe that we have already come to the middle of the first marking period. Thank you to all the parents that attended our annual Back-to-School-Night in September. We had a full house and I appreciate the continuous strong parental involvement at Jones Elementary. This month we look forward to the annual Fall Festival on October 27th. On the 31st we will have our annual Halloween Parade and parties. Please have your child/children bring their costumes to school. I find that this practice is less distracting and can allow us to have lots of fun, but continue with learning at the same time. I also ask that you make sure that the costumes are suitable for school and not too violent or scary in nature. Again, this helps with promoting healthy fun for everyone. If you have not already done so, please join the PTA. We had a wonderful meeting Tuesday and I am very impressed with the positive energy and the commitment of the executive board and committee members of this year’s PTA. The meetings have been informative and very efficient. Perhaps we will see you next month? Please feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or would like to speak about a specific topic. I am here for you and your family. Sincerely, Kathleen A. FitzGerald, Principal
